Job description
Land Surveyor Opportunity - Somerset
One of our Tier 1 clients sector is seeking Intermediate and Senior Land Surveyors to join their team on a permanent basis. We're seeking individuals that have geomatics/ land surveying background experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting Heat Sink survey control, including Health & Safety and Quality Management Systems for Construction and Inspection & Maintenance
- Establishing and transferring 3D survey control using methods such as plumbing up and processing survey control data with StarNet
- Performing 3D laser scanning and data processing using Cyclone and 3DReshaper
- Supervising site surveying teams and developing survey programming for daily construction activities
- Managing H&S documentation for the surveying department
- Mentoring junior staff, setting benchmarks, assessment periods, and goals for professional development
- Following surveying procedures and ensuring project survey control is maintained to high standards
- Communicating with engineers, foremen, workforce, and subcontractors to ensure a clear understanding of provided information
Job Requirements:
- Experience in engineering surveying, with a focus on 3D survey control and laser scanning
- Proficiency with surveying software such as StarNet, Cyclone, 3DReshaper, and MS Office
- Extensive knowledge of Leica Total Station and 3D Laser Scanning instruments and associated software
- An understanding of design & engineering drawings and QA procedures
- Minimum of three GCSEs including Mathematics, English and a Science; a degree in Land Surveying or Engineering Surveying is desirable
- Technical aptitude to use modern surveying equipment and capability to train others
- Membership (or working towards membership) of CICES is preferred
