Job description
Our Water & Utilities consultancy client are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis working on a prestigious water sector project based in Havant.
This is a site-based role, and the ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, with specific experience in NEC contract management.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the quantity surveying process, including cost estimation, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and maintain accurate project cost plans and forecasts.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Monitor project progress and financial performance, identifying and mitigating risks.
- Conduct value engineering and cost analysis to optimize project expenditure.
- Prepare tender documentation and assess contractor submissions.
- Negotiate contracts and variations with contractors and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with NEC contract requirements and relevant legislation.
- Maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders.
Skills/experience/qualifications
- Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in quantity surveying, ideally within the water sector.
- Strong experience with NEC contracts is essential.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a site-based environment.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
