About Us
We are a growing, employee-owned consultancy looking to expand our Bridges department. With new and exciting projects on the horizon, we seek a talented Senior Bridge Engineer to help shape the future of our department.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
- Education: Engineering degree, Chartered or nearing chartership review within 12 months (ICE/IstructE)
- Experience: At least 6 years in a design environment, with CRE experience in bridge refurbishments/renewals across various materials and structural types
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in structures such as bridges, tunnels, stations, and geotechnical structures, with a range of materials (concrete, steel, timber, masonry)
- Project Management: Skilled in scoping, coordinating design, and managing contractual and financial aspects of projects
- Leadership: Experience managing teams of 2-4 people and working on multiple concurrent multi-discipline commissions
- Client Relations: Capable in a client-facing, work-winning role, adept at representing the company and engaging with stakeholders
- Additional Requirements: A clean driving licence, and a drive for career growth within a supportive, employee-owned company
Key Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual and detailed designs per project needs
- Check design calculations and drawings completed by junior engineers
- Conduct structural calculations and analysis using relevant software
- Provide technical leadership and review in design, assessments, and other technical areas
- Prepare and support fee proposals
- Build and manage relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors
- Represent our team at client meetings, and participate in site visits, structural inspections, and investigations
- Offer guidance and support to junior staff
- Manage small to medium-sized projects from inception to completion
