Role

Focusing on the transfer of infrastructure knowledge and capability from Barrow as a leading submarine build facility, into Australia to enable and replicate BAE Systems submarine build capability.

This role forms part of a newly created team under the AUKUS relationship that will lead on the mobilisation and integration of several elements that will provide Australia with the ability and efficiency equal to Barrow, to manufacture and produce nuclear powered submarines.

This role looks at Infrastructure specifically, with a small number of peers who will perform the same role focused on the other areas bringing together the entire integration of capability. You will have line management responsibility of one employee in the form of a Technical Author who will assist on the procedure to write requirements and assure design.

Submarines Sector experience is advantageous but not necessary; however you should bring with you either some experience of technical requirements, or experience from an infrastructure role

Your success in this role will come from your ability to be inquisitive and persuasive, identifying the relevant experts on site, negotiating to get some of their time, using interpersonal skills to tap into their expertise and producing a strong requirement or technical response.

NOTE - would be in frequent contact with team in Australia so ability to start early would be extremely beneficial

Role Responsibilities

Small team in it's infancy providing technical consultancy on the AUKUS project. Requires good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with stakeholders, not required to be technical experts but some appreciation of the ship yard and/or infrastructure would be desirable. Needs a high standard of written and verbal communication. Looking for numerous years project management experience.

Skills Required

• Ability to persuade and influence senior internal stakeholders.

• Background in understanding and interpreting Technical Requirements and/or knowledge of Infrastructure.

• Microsoft Office

Security Clearance: SC

This role will require the person to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working onsite. You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC and you must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship and have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum 5 year period. The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.
