Job description

Our client, a dynamic company in the technology sector, is seeking a Lead Mobile App Developer to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be instrumental in leading the development of a cross-platform mobile application for a smart baby monitor, integrating with wearable devices and camera streams. This hybrid role is based in Central London, with two days per week office-based working.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of a cross-platform mobile app using React Native
• Integrate the mobile app with hardware components such as wearable devices and hubs from initial pairing to real-time data streaming
• Collaborate with the back-end team to integrate APIs, cloud services, and data processing pipelines
• Implement video streaming and audio features from the camera
• Develop a responsive and intuitive user interface, prioritising ease of use and performance
• Ensure the app meets security and privacy regulations
• Collaborate with QA to implement testing strategies, including unit testing and automated UI tests
• Optimise app performance, ensuring smooth real-time data display and notifications

Job Requirements:

• Significant experience in mobile app development, with extensive use of React Native
• Strong experience with RESTful APIs and cloud services integration
• Experience with video and audio streaming technologies (e.g., WebRTC, RTSP)
• Familiarity with AWS
• Strong understanding of mobile app performance optimisation and debugging
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Experience with IoT integration (desirable)
• Familiarity with regulatory standards in health tech (desirable)
