Job description

**Job Title:** Structural Engineer (Inside IR35 Contract)

**Location:** London (Hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote)

**Rate:** £40-£50 per hour

### **Job Summary:**
We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing structural calculations, supporting structural surveys, and reporting on structural defects primarily within residential properties. This role is inside IR35, with an hourly rate of £40-£50, and offers a flexible work arrangement, with three days on-site in London and two days working remotely.

### **Key Responsibilities:**
- **Structural Calculations:** Produce precise structural calculations for a variety of residential projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- **Structural Surveys:** Assist in conducting structural surveys, evaluating the integrity of existing structures, and identifying potential issues.
- **Defect Reporting:** Assess and report on structural defects in residential properties, providing detailed analysis and recommendations for remediation.
- **Technical Support:** Offer guidance and support for projects requiring structural expertise, collaborating closely with design teams and other stakeholders.
- **Compliance and Quality Assurance:** Ensure all structural work adheres to industry standards and complies with applicable regulations.

### **Qualifications and Skills:**
- **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- **Experience:** Proven experience in structural engineering, with a focus on residential properties.
- **Technical Expertise:** Proficiency in structural calculations, defect analysis, and familiarity with UK building regulations.
- **Software Proficiency:** Competency in structural analysis and design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar.
- **Communication:** Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information in reports.
