Job description
Following the recent award of a £multi-billion renewable energy project, a global leading consultancy seeks to employ a proven Quantity Surveying professional who has experience of using the FIDIC contract within an energy environment (Power & Renewables, HVDC, Energy & Power Generation, Offshore Cabling, Windfarms, Nuclear etc) In the role of Associate Director.
This is a leadership role so if you are passionate about managing and growing teams, being a technical expert in the quantity surveying field, developing new opportunities with current / future clients or enjoy doing all three this would be the perfect role for you!
Th Associate Director will play a key role in the commercial delivery of a £multi-billion flagship renewable energy project that will have a positive impact on the environment and communities in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementing principal accountabilities for the contract commercial team in alignment with commercial procedures
- Managing the procurement process to ensure alignment with the Integrated Work Schedule and effective contract signature
- Overseeing commercial management of contracts during the execution phase, including managing change via Compensation Events and Variations
- Administering the payment application process for high value, complex contracts
- Ensuring stakeholder expectations are met regarding commercial probity and value
- Engaging with the supply chain to build and maintain effective relationships based on collaborative working principles
- Managing contract commercial relationships to facilitate early commercial close-out of contentious topics
- Overseeing and ensuring compliance with the approved Supply Chain Policy
- Providing commercial management and support to Senior Commercial Manager or Supply Chain Lead
- Delivering contract final account agreements and supporting Project Managers in contract delivery
- Administering commercial management tools, including CEMAR and SAP
Job Requirements:
- Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Experience in energy industries such as Power & Renewables, HVDC, Energy & Power generation, offshore cabling, and wind farms
- Strong understanding of procurement, contract performance measurement, risk, change, and claim management
- Experience with framework contract and long-term service agreement negotiation
- Knowledge of NEC & FIDIC contracts and their application in power construction industry and major projects
- Proven track record of successful contract administration
- Experience working within a regulated environment
- Membership or progression towards membership of a professional body (e.g., MCIPS, RICS, CICES, IOB, CIPS, IACCM) is desirable
