Job description
Our client, a prominent player in the financial sector, is currently seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Operations Manager to join their Technology & Data team in Lisbon. This person will be responsible for 3 areas of the Iberian IT Operations department: IT Infrastructures, Service Desk & Workplace and Application Support.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the daily operations of IT departments, ensuring that systems, services, and infrastructure work reliably and securely:
- IT Infrastructures: Ensuring that the physical infrastructure solutions are the most appropriate and maintain a monitoring system to guarantee the quality of the service, application and/or product.
- Service Desk & Workplace: Ensuring the support and resolution of technical problems for employees, guaranteeing compliance with the defined SLAs.
- Application Support: Supporting and troubleshooting technical and production problems with the company's application systems.
- Leading Iberia's multicultural and multidisciplinary team, developing their potential, promoting teamwork, co-operation, motivating and guiding employees through monitoring, training and continuous feedback.
- Monitoring system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely
- Ensuring that IT systems comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Ensuring the management and smooth running of the company's entire IT environment, in particular the availability and operation of business support systems.
- Supporting the company's production and user environments.
- Promoting continuous improvement in the quality of the company's service, with a focus on automating processes, eliminating possible operational risks and improving production activity.
- Manage the department's budget and projects across the company in the technology area.
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Engineering or similar.
- At least 5 years' experience in IT projects, with a focus on IT security solutions, and 2 years' experience in team management.
- Knowledge of the following tools and technology: Knowledge of Networking (Cisco, Checkpoint, Watchguard); Systems management software (System Center, VMware vCenter); Service Desk Software (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Zendesk); Virtualization and Cloud platforms (VMware, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform); Security Software (Symantec, McAfee, firewall configurations); Data Analytics (Splunk, ELK Stack);
- Knowledge of ITIL Processes: Familiarity with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) best practices for IT service management.
- Project Management: Proficiency in overseeing IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
- Fluency in oral and written Portuguese and English. Knowledge of Spanish will be valued.
- Soft skills: leadership and people management (ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of IT professionals to achieve operational goals), problem-solving (strong analytical skills to identify issues, determine causes, and implement effective solutions swiftly), exceptional ability to interact and build relationships with people from diverse backgrounds, good negotiating skills, excellent organizational and planning skills.
