Role:
NATS (National Air Traffic Services) are currently seeking a Security Technical Designer (Cyber Consultant) to join their team on a contractual basis. The role will involve providing architectural guidance and support for technical service design, ensuring alignment with agreed principles, strategies, requirements, and the Target Operating Model. SC clearance is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architectural-level technical service design for cyber security and associated system architecture design activities.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of key developments in cyber security across relevant domains, including ATM.
  • Develop, socialise, and agree upon technical cyber security strategies and resulting service and solution architectures.
  • Champion cyber security strategies and architecture, securing alignment across the business.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders such as the CISO and NCSC to ensure service and solution architectures meet business objectives.
  • Ensure the target architecture is deliverable and affordable, negotiating compromises where necessary.
  • Work as an integral member of the Architecture and Technical Delivery team, providing support and clear communication to all stakeholders.
  • Be available for onsite requirements, including occasional week-long workshops.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience in architectural governance, managing issues and risks throughout the delivery lifecycle, specifically in information and cyber security.
  • Exemplary communication and influencing skills, with the ability to deliver solutions to complex challenges.
  • Proficient in communicating strategies and complex technical issues to operational and technical audiences with appropriate abstraction and detail.
  • A good honours degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, MIS) or equivalent experience and qualifications.
  • Technical certifications in cyber security, such as CCNP, CCSP, SABSA, CISSP, CISM, are highly desirable.
  • A credible leader with strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Significant experience in delivering cyber solutions within an architectural field at a senior level in a complex technical landscape.
