Job description
Overview:
This is an opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to work on behalf of our client who own and operate a chemical manufacturing plant.
The successful candidate must have experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician on fixed equipment including boilers, heat exchangers, valves, furnaces, flanges and associated pipework within the petrochemical or chemical manufacturing sector. The role will include a combination of mechanical preparatory work in advance of third party sub-contractors commencing their activities along with completing a work list of minor modification and maintenance work involving simple fixes and repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Completing mechanical maintenance activities both in the workshop and in the filed across a range of mechanical fixed equipment.
- Ensuring efficient preventative maintenance and defect repairs are performed on mechanical equipment.
- Demonstrating resilience, ownership, and innovation in solving mechanical maintenance problems.
- Partnering with the First Line Supervisor to develop and build your safety capacity.
- Collaborating with the site operations team to execute planned maintenance tasks.
- Carrying out Root Cause Failure Analysis on equipment failures and working with other functions to mitigate future occurrences.
Job Requirements:
- Completed an apprenticeship to SVQ level 3 or equivalent in a Mechanical trade. HNC in Mechanical Engineering is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience in the Oil and Gas or Petrochemical Industry.
- Fluent with computer and IT systems, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
- Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly describe field conditions and recommend solutions.
