Job Title: Welder
Location: Hamble, Southampton
Salary: £30 Umbrella rate per hour
Work Opportunity: Contract- Full time

Introduction

Are you a skilled welder with experience of working in the mobility sector? We have partnered with the Press Shop & Heat Treatments department at Hamble Aerostructures Limited, a leading aerospace organisation in Southampton, to hire local welders.

As an Aerospace Welder/Brazer, you will play a key role in fabricating high-quality components to aerospace standards using TIG welding techniques.

What will I be doing?

• Manually TIG welding various metallic components, including light-gauge aluminium alloys, to aerospace standards.
• Making sure work complies with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations.
• Maintaining and updating Approved Operator (AO) stamps and meeting quality standards.
• Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications for component processing.
• Assisting in generating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and working closely with quality and engineering teams.

What do I need to succeed?

You're an Aerospace-approved Welder with an NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent. You'll also have:

• Expertise in TIG welding, particularly with aluminium alloys.
• Certification equivalent to BCAR A8-10 or relevant aerospace standards.
• Proven ability to interpret engineering documents and evaluate components.
• BPSS clearance required and must be maintained.
