Job description
Our client, an independent organisation in the Building Control sector, is seeking a dedicated Registered Building Inspector (RBI) to join their Midlands region team covering schemes in Leicestershire. This role primarily focuses on commercial workloads, with some involvement in domestic and residential schemes. As a Class 2D registered professional or higher, you will play a crucial part in ensuring buildings meet regulatory standards without the pressure of aggressive growth targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough building inspections in accordance with regulatory standards
- Providing expert guidance on building control and compliance matters
- Preparing detailed reports and documentation for inspections carried out
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project compliance and safety
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current building regulations
- Evaluating and approving building plans and specifications
- Advising on building safety and best practices
- Ensuring consistent and accurate application of building control measures
Job Requirements:
- Registration as a Class 2D or higher Building Inspector
- In-depth knowledge of building control processes and regulations
- Experience in conducting building inspections, primarily in commercial projects
- Strong understanding of both commercial and residential building schemes
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities
- Proficiency in interpreting building plans and specifications
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
