Our client, a leading Rail Contractor, is currently seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Amesbury. This permanent, full-time position involves delivering professional services to the Rail sector, working on multiple NR schemes with Volker Fitz. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to advance their career in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing, managing, and monitoring project budgets and forecasts.
  • Identifying cost risks and implementing cost-saving strategies.
  • Managing and administrating contracts in accordance with relevant terms and conditions.
  • Reviewing and preparing valuations, variations, and claims.
  • Assessing and agreeing on subcontractor payments.
  • Providing accurate and timely project reports, cost-value reconciliations (CVR), and final accounts.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the Rail sector, ideally with exposure to Rail Contractor projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of contracts (NEC, JCT, or similar), commercial management, and cost reporting.
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools such as Microsoft Office, project cost management systems, and quantity surveying software.
