Job description
As a key member of the engineering team, you will report to the Engineering Manager, undertaking various engineering tasks using their Siemens SolidEdge CAD system. You will lead technical development of new customer programs, manage in-house projects, and provide support for existing products in service, ensuring timely delivery of all project milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out 3D CAD development, working with customer surface/packaging data from concept through to serial production.
- Create high-quality, concise engineering drawings and progress these through the Engineering Change Management process.
- Track and report project progress, ensuring all time, cost, quality, and weight targets are monitored, managed, and met.
- Participate in internal and external design reviews, supporting each step of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process through formal project framework stage-gates.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Deputise for the Engineering Manager as required.
- Become a Check Authority, peer-checking the work of other engineers.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience using Siemens SolidEdge CAD is a distinct advantage.
- Proven track record of managing projects from concept through to manufacture.
- Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of Part 21 regulations and related design processes.
- Recent experience, ideally within a mechanical engineering field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Enthusiastic team player with a positive 'can-do' attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Experience in aircraft cabin interior engineering (desirable but not essential).
