Job description
Our client, a global leader in Defence and Aerospace solutions, is currently seeking a 3rd Line Helpdesk Engineer for a contract role to join their IT team in Marlow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resolve escalated technical issues across the IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and applications.
- Support the deployment and management of secure network architectures in compliance with Defence sector regulations.
- Monitor and maintain infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Collaborate on projects to enhance IT systems and implement secure solutions.
- Adhere to industry standards such as NIST 800-171/172, Cyber Essentials Plus, and Zero-Trust principles.
- Support the Head of IT in maintaining compliance and preparing for internal/external audits.
- Work closely with the Cyber Security Manager and other IT team members to ensure a cohesive approach to secure IT environments.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to align IT solutions with business needs.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation and contribute to incident response and resolution records.
- Provide performance insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Job Requirements:
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in a 3rd line support role within complex technical environments.
- Strong understanding of secure IT and OT environments, including IP routing, switching, VLANs, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with technologies such as Palo Alto, Aruba networking equipment, and Enterprise Catapans.
- Experience with compliance frameworks like NIST, Cyber Essentials, and CIS benchmarks.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to incident and problem management.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of Darktrace and Zero-Trust Network technologies.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, MCSE, or equivalent).
- Exposure to Defence or manufacturing environments is an advantage.
