Job description

This is an opportunity to work as a Process Operations Assistant within a chemical manufacturing environment overseeing and executing a variety of field operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety at all times.

Whilst adhering to safety and compliance regulations at all times the role and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Working with and supporting Contractor personnel to prepare and maintain a safe work environment for their work including temporary equipment setup and hosting third -part Contractors.
  • Safely performing physical tasks including moving drums of chemicals, lifting, climbing ladders / tanks.
  • Extensive forklift duties.
  • Offloading chemical tankers.
  • Filter cleaning on process equipment.
  • Fugitive emission surveying (monitoring gas emissions).
  • Performing product sample analysis of various process streams.
  • Operational safety checks on emergency equipment & product quality equipment checks (minor maintenance).
  • Chemical inventory management.
  • Documenting and reporting on testing and field activities.

Key skills and attributes we are looking for include initiative, drive, energy and determination to work outdoors as part of a team providing operations support. This is a physically active hands-on role involving many manual tasks and it will involve working at height.

Candidates will ideally have experience of working within a COMAH environment, i.e. storing or handling chemicals or substances of a hazardous nature. Candidates will ideally have forklift diver experience, but training can be provided.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of working safely / working to safe working practices / safe systems of work. You must have good oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, and you must be competent in the use of standard desktop systems, e.g. Word and Outlook.

This job is Inside IR35. The rates advertise are PAYE rates.
