Weapon/Marine Engineer
Contract Duration: 2 Years

Our client, a prominent client in the defence sector, is seeking an experienced Weapon/Marine Engineer to join an exciting program supporting the delivery of the S-IKM Engineering Data Services Team (EDST). This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that engineering data services meet current and future Naval platform requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Weapon/Marine Engineer, you will leverage your expertise to:

Data Management: Maintain, develop, improve, and integrate the data sets contained within a Ministry of Defence (MoD) IT system into a coherent application.

Data Quality: Identify and resolve non-conformant, duplicate, and redundant data within defined delegations. Initiate and coordinate external action where required.

Governance: Ensure data rights, support needs, and business requirements are captured and configured appropriately.

Audit and Compliance: Perform system data quality audits and address identified shortfalls.
-
Access Management: Manage access and governance of the ROSETTA application set on behalf of platform information asset owners.

Analytics and Reporting: Produce and maintain dashboards and management/business information to support decision-making forums such as Availability Working Groups, In-Service Capability Management Boards, and Platform Safety and Environmental Committee meetings.
Additional Responsibilities:

Assist with ILS and RCM investigations through expert data analytics and document/data recovery.

Facilitate and support the Metadata Standards Board and other program-related objectives.
Essential Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
The ideal candidate will bring:

Defence Industry Expertise: Experience in the UK Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) environment or the UK/International Defence Industry.

Data Governance: Proficiency in data migration, management, and improvement processes.
-
Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of IPR, ITAR, and ASSC regulations.
-
Operational Experience: Hands-on experience in operating and maintaining modern warships.

Technical Skills:
-
Expertise as a Weapons or Marine Engineer.
-
Familiarity with document configuration management practices.
-
Understanding of MoD databases, including UMMS, MCWE, SSDD, Trilogiview, Compass, DSTAN, and SOCS Data Portal.

Knowledge of CSM BPs, DEFSTANs, and BRs.
-
Desirable Skills:
-
Awareness of MoD-related commercial practices.
-
Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
-
Knowledge of JSP 248/440 standards.
-
Effective communication skills and the ability to liaise at all levels.
-
Project management expertise.
-
Experience with training requirements, including Training Needs Analysis (TNA).
