Job description


Our client, a reputable entity in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Team Leader/CNC Machinist for a Temp to Perm role. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team and lead the milling section to ensure quality and efficiency in production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and operate CNC milling machine tools.
  • Setting of cutting tools, machine tool, and workpiece datums.
  • Assess tool condition and maintain as necessary.
  • Self-inspect own work in accordance with the planning layout and customer drawing.
  • Manage daily quality and production requirements and performance issues.
  • Provide training for new or temporary employees.
  • Undertake return to work interviews, performance reviews, maintain discipline, ensure safe working practices, and maintain appropriate records.
  • Liaise between your peer/work group and management regarding day-to-day problems.
  • Hold meetings with the team and act on feedback.
  • Maintain close liaison with the Operations Manager or his deputy regarding the improvement of production or handling techniques.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in a supervisory role.
  • Extensive milling experience.
  • Proficiency in using CNC machines; Mazak machine tools experience is desirable, but not essential.
  • Ability to produce high-quality, tight-tolerance components in a variety of materials.
  • Strong understanding of quality and production management.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively between different teams and management.
  • Commitment to maintaining high safety standards and production efficiency.
