Job description

Our client, a leader in the Maritime Defence sector, is currently seeking a Project Engineering Lead (PEL) to join their growing team.

My Client is expanding their engineering leadership team and have several exciting opportunities for Project Engineering Leads to join us. This pivotal role sits at the heart of their engineering delivery, working closely with the Project Manager and System Design Authority to ensure successful project execution.

As a Project Engineering Lead, you will oversee the delivery of engineering activities across time, cost, and quality targets, leading multi-disciplinary teams through defined scopes of work.

What We're Looking For:

I'm seeking professionals with experience in complex engineering projects and work package management. Ideal candidates will bring:

  • Strong communication skills to foster collaboration within teams and with key stakeholders

  • Proven experience leading engineering development projects-from requirements gathering to production

  • Familiarity with defence industry standards and practices

  • Engineering estimation expertise

  • The ability to develop and manage engineering plans, identifying dependencies, assumptions, risks, and opportunities

  • A good understanding of design gate processes, from bid to production readiness review

  • Knowledge of configuration and change management

  • A systems engineering background with an appreciation for electrical, mechanical, and software disciplines

Job Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in Change & Transformation, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering
  • Solid background in Systems Engineering with a strong understanding of multidisciplinary integration
  • Experience in managing teams on complex engineering projects
  • Familiarity with engineering estimation and producing detailed engineering plans
  • Experience on defence projects
  • Understanding of configuration and change management principles
  • Excellent communication skills for building strong relationships with team members and stakeholders
  • Eligibility for Security Check (SC) clearance
