About the Role:
Our client is shaping the future of rail services, investing in trains, infrastructure, stations, and customer service under the National Development Plan 2018-2027. With further investment planned, this role contributes to projects aligned with the Climate Action Plan, including rolling out up to 750 electric or battery-electric carriages, upgrading tracks, signals, and stations, and improving accessibility.
As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of technical specifications, support procurement processes, and manage technical aspects of projects related to rolling stock through its lifecycle. Reporting to the Chief Engineers Department Head of Projects or the Technical Manager, this position offers a high-paced and compliance-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop technical specifications for rail projects, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
- Support procurement activities, including technical evaluations and supplier management.
- Oversee project implementation, ensuring delivery within time, cost, and quality targets.
- Conduct lifecycle management for rolling stock, ensuring long-term operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align project goals.
Essential Criteria:
- Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification with relevant engineering experience.
- Strong technical knowledge, including understanding of industry standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage resources, plan effectively, and work independently.
- Focus on safety and compliance in project execution.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills and experience in project delivery.
- Willingness to travel internationally for short or extended periods.

About the Role:
As a Project Manager, you will oversee and deliver strategic rail and infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with the National Development Plan 2018-2027 and the Climate Action Plan. You will be responsible for managing resources, budgets, and timelines, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects that meet the growing demands of the rail network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage high-profile rail and infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
- Develop project strategies, budgets, and schedules, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones and deliverables.
- Manage risks, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular project updates.
- Ensure that all project deliverables meet time, cost, and quality expectations.
Essential Criteria:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in leading large-scale projects in a high-compliance industry.
