Job summary
Our client is currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their team in Sheffield. This is a permanent role focused on infrastructure projects within the residential and commercial sectors.

Civil Engineering residential design experience.
Job description
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and preparing drawings for surface water, sewer networks, and external ground levels
- Highway designs, including vertical and horizontal geometry, with experience in Highways and Drainage design (S278, S38, S104)
- Utilising specialist software for drainage and infrastructure design including AutoCAD, PDS, and Microdrainage/Windes
- Preparing technical schedules
- Representing our client at meetings with clients, other professionals, and suppliers when required
- Ensuring project work is carried out within agreed deadlines and within budget
- Communicating with Directors on relevant service/design decisions to ensure the objectives of the company and the client are achieved
- Coordinating work with other members of the project team and informing relevant staff of client matters
- Mentoring and assisting Graduate Engineers where required
- Embracing CPD, self-learning, and personal development
- Actively working towards Chartered Engineering status (where applicable)
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Civil/Structural engineering (or equivalent)
- Chartered or working towards chartered status with ICE (Institute of Civil Engineers)
- General infrastructure design experience
- Residential infrastructure design experience, including drainage and highway design to adoptable standards (S38, S278, S104, and S206)
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD, PDS, and Microdrainage/Windes
- Excellent communication skills and experience representing engineering projects at meetings
- Ability to manage projects to meet deadlines and budget constraints
- Commitment to CPD, self-learning, and professional development
