Job description

BAE Systems is seeking a Material Provision Co-Ordinator to join their team at Portsmouth Naval Base on a 12-month contract. This role is essential in supporting the Defence & Security sector, specifically within Maritime Services, ensuring the efficient control and planning of materials. The role entails working fully onsite and requires security clearance (SC, start on BPSS).

Key Responsibilities:

• Co-ordinating the provision of materials required for various projects
• Managing and maintaining materials inventory to meet project deadlines
• Utilising materials control and planning systems effectively
• Ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of materials to sites
• Liaising with suppliers to manage materials availability
• Collaborating with internal teams to understand material requirements
• Monitoring material costs and budget compliance
• Updating and maintaining records of material usage and stock levels

Job Requirements:

• Experience in materials control and planning
• Proficiency with materials management systems
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal teams
• Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Understanding of the Defence & Security sector, particularly within maritime services, is beneficial
