Our client are seeking an experienced electrical engineer to perform installation work of communication and control systems at their Barrow in Furness site.

Job description

What you'll be doing:

• Electrical/Electronic installation for Comms and C&I test facilities
• Design of Test Infrastructure and Hardware
• Write and produce technical & test documents
• Execute testing and commissioning of installed systems in a high assurance engineering environment
• Working with internal and external stakeholders
• Supporting design reviews and attending Factory Acceptance Tests
• Follow BAE conduct and health & safety practices
• Oversee and support junior team members

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

• Degree in relevant STEM discipline or equivalent experience (Electrical/Electronic)
• Good technical background and of working within a complex engineering industry
• Good technical knowledge of practicing in at least one of the following areas: Communications Systems (Voice Over IP (VOIP) networks, Broadcast (PA) or trunked radio systems) or Control & Instrumentation (Siemens, Allan Bradley and Fanuc PLCs)

Desirable:

• CEng, MIET (or be able to work towards satisfying requirements for CEng)
• Experience of Test and Acceptance within a high assurance engineering environment
• Knowledge of Systems Engineering, Requirements Management, Engineering Life cycle and quality assurance
• Experience of coaching junior team members
