Job description

Our client, a leading organisation in the nuclear sector, is currently seeking a Requirements Engineer to join their team at Calleva Park. This is a contract position requiring SC Clearance. The successful applicant will be working on One Team programmes, providing essential Requirements Engineering expertise. With over 40 years in decommissioning and waste management, our client delivers comprehensive services across the nuclear project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and execution of tasks to deliver specific agreed objectives, ensuring control of cost, quality, and timeliness.
• Leading and influencing collaborative working to achieve project goals.
• Supervising and mentoring staff in systems engineering.
• Maintaining high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality.

Job Requirements:

• Hold SC Clearance.
• Significant experience as a DV cleared DOORS practitioner, with commercial and government experience.
• Ability to write Use Cases.
• Capable of eliciting, analysing, and translating stakeholder needs into technical requirements.
• Experience in requirements derivation, architecture development, and system simulation.
• Proficiency in requirements verification and validation, including support for test case and plan development.
• Competent in managing and developing long-term lifecycle plans using Systems Engineering best practice (INCOSE).
• Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes and best practices, promoting awareness and improvements.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Degree level education in engineering or equivalent practical experience - Essential
• Membership of relevant technical/professional bodies - Desirable
• IOSH Managing Safely or Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace - training provided if needed.
• Experience with abstract modelling techniques to support lifecycle processes - Essential
• Experience in system design and specification, including interface design - Essential
• Basic understanding of the UK Nuclear Industry - Essential
• Understanding of radiological controls for project delivery - Desirable
