Job description

The Sampson Radar Software team, comprised of 30 personnel, supports and upgrades capabilities for the Royal Navy. This role involves delivering software products, providing ongoing support, and contributing to enhancements over the next decade. This opportunity allows you to develop and enhance your skills and knowledge, potentially leading to more senior positions within a global business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply experience to design and develop sub-system solutions and resolve engineering issues
• Provide technical expertise across the software team for maintaining software used in naval radars
• Handle requirements, design, implementation, testing, and verification of software subsystems on Naval radars
• Design and develop subsystems, including replacing obsolete hardware and software
• Work as part of a cohesive team of software engineers across multiple projects and products

Job Requirements:

• BEng/BSc in Computer Science or other relevant Engineering or Numerate subject, with CEng status or equivalent capability
• Considerable experience of using at least one high-level programming language
• Experience in using a high-level design methodology (e.g. UML)
• Comprehensive understanding of software lifecycle models (e.g. Waterfall, Agile)
• Expertise in software engineering, particularly with Embedded C/C++, Python, and Java
