My client is currently seeking a Planning Officer to join their team on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:
- Handling development management applications in accordance Council's policies and regulations
- Conducting site assessments and preparing detailed reports on planning and development proposals
- Providing professional advice and guidance on planning matters to applicants, stakeholders, and the general public
- Reviewing and evaluating planning applications and making sound recommendations
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements
- Managing and coordinating with internal teams and external agencies to facilitate the planning process
- Engaging in community consultations and effectively communicating planning decisions
- Keeping up-to-date with current planning legislation and best practices
Job Requirements:
- Experience in development management and planning processes
- Strong understanding of local and national planning policies and regulations
- Excellent analytical and report-writing skills
- Ability to interpret and apply planning legislation and guidelines
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in using planning-related software and tools
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote work setting
- Relevant qualifications in planning or a related field
