Job description

My client is currently seeking a Planning Officer to join their team on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling development management applications in accordance Council's policies and regulations
  • Conducting site assessments and preparing detailed reports on planning and development proposals
  • Providing professional advice and guidance on planning matters to applicants, stakeholders, and the general public
  • Reviewing and evaluating planning applications and making sound recommendations
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements
  • Managing and coordinating with internal teams and external agencies to facilitate the planning process
  • Engaging in community consultations and effectively communicating planning decisions
  • Keeping up-to-date with current planning legislation and best practices

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in development management and planning processes
  • Strong understanding of local and national planning policies and regulations
  • Excellent analytical and report-writing skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply planning legislation and guidelines
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using planning-related software and tools
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote work setting
  • Relevant qualifications in planning or a related field
