Job description


Our client, a leading provider in the water sector, is seeking a dedicated Regional Generator Engineer to join their team based out of Derby. This permanent role involves servicing and maintaining stage V generators, MDU/AMF panels, and cables to a high standard both on customer sites and GAP depots across the region. The role requires flexibility, with travel and overnight stays as needed.

Key Responsibilities:


The primary responsibilities include maintaining the full and safe operational functionality of generators and their associated ancillaries, such as diesel tanks and distribution cables. Specific duties include:

  • Reducing backlogs of non-RFH equipment at various depots
  • Undertaking major repairs and refurbishments
  • Ensuring servicing is up to date both on-site and at depots
  • Diagnosing faults and maintaining a variety of stage V generators and MDU/AMF Panels
  • Checking and tagging equipment, and updating service records
  • Following lock-out tag-out processes
  • Ensuring compliance with customer Health & Safety rules while on site
  • Keeping workshop and vehicle organised, clean, and tidy
  • Reporting all incidents and accidents promptly

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in generators and associated ancillaries
  • Hands-on experience in servicing, maintenance, installation, and repair of diesel-driven products
  • Knowledge of products and a full range of accessories
  • Relevant qualifications such as C&G/CITB/NVQ are preferable
  • A valid driving licence is essential
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs of the region with a flexible attitude
  • Proficiency in both mechanical and electrical disciplines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and above-average fitting abilities
