Job description

Leading international consultancy who offer an autonomous, employee focused working experience, seek a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor level candidate with experience of working on major civil engineering projects to join their company.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor / Managing Quantity Surveyor who will work on a major infrastructure expansion project which is currently at design stage and being delivered using the NEC options A contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing cost control and commercial management for a major expansion project
• Reporting to and collaborating with Senior Commercial staff on the programme
• Managing and mentoring a Quantity Surveyor
• Ensuring accurate cost forecasting and budget management
• Handling contract administration, particularly NEC option A, fixed price lump sum
• Maintaining effective communication with contractors and stakeholders
• Participating in early construction design stages (design stage 4)
• Conducting regular progress assessments and adjusting financial plans accordingly

Job Requirements:

• Significant experience in quantity surveying on major civil engineering projects within rail, highways or airports
• Proficiency in cost control and contract management
• Experience with NEC option A contracts
• Background in managing contractors and mentoring junior team members
• Understanding of early construction design stages
• Ability to work effectively in project teams within rail, highways or airport sectors
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• Relevant qualifications in quantity surveying or civil engineering
