Job description


Following the successful award of several new contracts in a short space of time, an internationally recognised engineering organisation seeks to employ a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Bristol.

This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a close-knit office, where you will get the chance to be involved a wide variety of civil engineering projects in the rail, nuclear, highways and water industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a full range of Quantity Surveying duties from project inception through to completion.
  • Prepare cost plans, estimates, Bills of Quantities, and tender documents.
  • Deliver construction phase services including change management, contractor payment applications, forecasts, and final accounts.
  • Prepare commercial reports for client use.
  • Work collaboratively with other disciplines to provide an integrated approach to client delivery.
  • Develop client relationships and provide an outstanding level of service delivery on a project basis, in conjunction with senior management.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in Quantity Surveying, particularly within civil engineering projects
  • Proficiency in NEC contracts is essential.
  • Ability to prepare detailed cost plans, estimates, and Bills of Quantities.
  • Experience in handling contractor payment applications and final accounts.
  • Strong commercial acumen and report writing skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline.
  • Able to mentor and develop junior staff members.
