Job description

Job Title: Production Engineer
Location: Wimborne, Dorset
Flexible Opportunities
Fully onsite with some flexibility

Given the nature of the role, candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance - we are only able to consider sole British Nationals due to programme restrictions.

Introduction:

We're working with leading company in the Defence & Security sector, to help them hire an experienced Production Engineer to join their local team in Wimborne.

This award-winning business was recently honoured with the Gold Award in the MoD Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, and has been supporting the nuclear industry since 1960, providing long-term solutions for safety-critical systems across nearly all of the UK's nuclear sites.

What will I be doing?

As a Production Engineer, you'll work closely with the engineering team to deliver accurate documentation, streamline build and test processes, and address production issues. You'll drive continuous improvement as you introduce new technologies to boost efficiency and performance, including lean layouts and capital equipment recommendations. (UKEYES Only projects)

You'll make sure that commitments are met in terms of cost, quality, and schedule, providing regular updates to stakeholders on task progress, risks, and estimates.

Additionally, you'll support manufacturing estimates for bids, including information on feasibility, tooling, costs, and operation times.

What do I need to succeed?

You'll already have experience providing production engineering support to a Manufacturing department, working with different manufacturing processes and assembly techniques.

You're able to read and understand electronic schematics and technical drawings, design jigs and fixtures, and work with a bill of materials within an ERP/MRP system.

To be a success, you'll need:

  • An HNC/HND qualification in an engineering related discipline
  • The ability to work with multiple tasks, set priorities and make decisions
  • To be able to present and communicate your ideas effectively

Any previous experience with ONR SAPs and TAGs, or working in Defence/Aerospace or a safety regulated environment would be advantageous, but isn't essential for you to apply.
