Our client, an outstanding specialist within the HTP sector, is currently seeking a Principal Ecologist to join their team on a contract basis, traversing the nation to provide expert services related to highway projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travelling extensively across the country to carry out ecological assessments for highway projects
  • Conducting thorough surveys and habitat assessments to identify species and habitats of importance
  • Providing expert advice to ensure compliance with ecological legislation and regulations
  • Producing detailed ecological reports and technical notes for clients
  • Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate ecological considerations into project planning and delivery
  • Ensuring all ecological services are carried out to the highest professional standards and with no SDC (Significant Delays or Complications)
  • Contributing to the development of ecological strategies and policies within the organisation

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience in ecological assessments within the highway sector
  • Strong knowledge of ecological legislation and best practices
  • Ability to travel extensively and work independently in various locations across the country
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills
  • Proficiency in ecological surveying techniques and habitat assessment methodologies
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Relevant degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field
