Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Project & Site Management:
* Take full responsibility for managing construction activities within a specific section of the airport project.
* Plan, coordinate, and oversee day-to-day site operations to ensure efficient and safe project delivery.
* Ensure works are carried out according to design specifications, contract requirements, and project schedules.
* Identify and resolve site challenges, implementing solutions to maintain progress.
* Ensure minimal disruption to airport operations by coordinating activities with airport authorities.
2. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
* Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations, including Heathrow's safety policies and CDM 2015 requirements.
* Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment.
* Lead safety briefings, toolbox talks, and ensure all personnel understand safety protocols.
* Promote a culture of safety, reporting and addressing any hazards or incidents promptly.
3. Stakeholder & Team Coordination:
* Act as the main site contact for clients, airport authorities, subcontractors, and internal teams.
* Liaise with designers, engineers, and project managers to ensure smooth project execution.
* Chair site meetings, progress reviews, and provide updates to senior management.
* Coordinate logistics and deliveries, ensuring site access adheres to airport security regulations.
4. Quality Assurance & Compliance:
* Oversee and implement quality control measures, ensuring work is completed to high standards.
* Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and work package plans.
* Ensure all works comply with Heathrow Airport Limited (HAL) regulations and industry standards.
* Manage snagging, defects, and project handover documentation.
5. Commercial & Cost Management:
* Monitor project costs, budgets, and resource allocations, ensuring cost-effective practices.
* Work closely with commercial teams to track variations, claims, and payment applications.
* Ensure materials, equipment, and resources are procured and utilized efficiently.
6. Programme Management & Reporting:
* Maintain up-to-date site records, including progress reports, site diaries, and HSE documentation.
* Track project milestones and key deliverables, ensuring alignment with project timelines.
* Identify potential delays or risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
* Degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Extensive experience in civil engineering or infrastructure projects, ideally within an airport or highly regulated environment.
* Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and regulatory requirements.
* CSCS card, SMSTS certification, and relevant health and safety qualifications.
* Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, Microsoft Project).
* Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
