Job description

This role involves overseeing and managing highway schemes from the pre-construction phase through to project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing projects to ensure coordination of multi-disciplinary inputs
• Managing resources effectively and efficiently to meet fluctuating workloads
• Working with clients, contractors, statutory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure works are completed on time and within budget
• Leading the pre-construction process and coordinating project delivery teams
• Supporting less experienced colleagues through technical review, mentoring and advice
• Participating in tender bids and business development opportunities
• Developing relationships with other teams to utilise additional resources for multidisciplinary projects
• Agreeing fees and managing the commercial position on projects
• Managing specialist subconsultant inputs

Job Requirements:

• Experience in project management and supervision of medium to high complexity highway schemes
• Proven knowledge in the design, maintenance, and supervision of highways related projects, including new build, maintenance, and assessment of road infrastructure
• Proven working knowledge of NEC contracts; NEC Project Manager or Site Supervisor accreditation preferred
• Chartered Civil Engineer or an Incorporated Engineer with extensive post-professional qualification experience
• Knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW)
• Understanding of the work of Statutory Undertakers and Street Works codes of practice
• Experience with Highway design packages such as MX/Civils3D and WinDes preferred, but not essential
• Excellent communication, client handling, and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in IT skills, including MS Project
