Job description

Our client, a prominent player in the defence and security sector, is looking for a Principal Systems Engineer (Tooling and Infrastructure) to join their dynamic and newly formed team. This role focuses on integrating modern systems engineering techniques and tools to support the specialist requirements of various defence products throughout their lifecycle. This is a permanent position in an innovative environment that supports professional growth and offers relocation packages for qualifying roles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading the development and management of the Systems Engineering tooling and infrastructure framework
• Providing coaching and ad hoc support to users of the Systems Engineering tools and infrastructure for practical engineering tasks
• Collaborating with specialist engineers to ensure their needs are incorporated and maintained within the Systems Engineering tooling and infrastructure
• Working closely with other Systems Engineering Leads to ensure that solutions are implementable and supportable
• Monitoring relevant technical developments, such as model authoring tools and information management

Job Requirements:

• Solid understanding of the application of modern Systems Engineering methods to large-scale system development
• Experience with Systems Engineering technical methods and practices, including ontologies, modelling languages, architecture frameworks, processes, and tooling
• Proficiency in modern information technology and methods such as cloud, secure by design, and triple store databases
• Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent working experience
• Chartered status or on the path to attaining it
