Job description
Our client, a neurotechnology company pioneering the digitisation of olfactory signals, has developed the world's first Nose-Computer Interface (NCI). This innovative system interprets neural signals from the olfactory bulb to identify a vast array of volatile compounds in the environment, enabling rapid detection of complex odours in under two seconds. This groundbreaking technology has significant applications across various sectors, including enhancing narcotics and explosives detection in security and defence, advancing disease diagnostics in healthcare, and monitoring crop health and environmental hazards in agriculture and environmental monitoring. As part of their continued innovation, our client is seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer to join their team on a contract basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigating the existing prototype design and system architecture
- Reviewing project materials, including system design specifications, schematics, and firmware
- Conducting a feasibility study to identify core technologies and key hardware components
- Defining project scope and development planning
- Setting up and familiarising with development tools
- Validating core technologies and characterising critical components to develop a power-efficient, robust, and compact wireless system
- Creating high-performance, low-power implantable solutions that align with our client's mission of digitising the sense of smell
Job Requirements:
- Experience in FPGA development and embedded systems
- Strong knowledge of system design specifications and schematics
- Proficiency in conducting feasibility studies and identifying key hardware components
- Ability to work with development tools and validate core technologies
- Understanding of designing low-power, wireless systems
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a team of engineers
