Job summary
Our client is looking for a experienced Senior nuclear safety engineer to join the team. The role is remote working with occasional visits to the Devonport office. Role is inside IR35, initial 12 month contract. Active SC Clearance is essential

Job description
.
Key Responsibilities:
- Producing safety assurance deliverables during design, construction, operation, and decommissioning.
- Supporting the management of nuclear safety and ensuring compliance with Site Licence Conditions.
- Developing safety cases, including Safety Case Production (e.g. SJP, PCSR, PCmSR, PRS).
- Handling Modification/ Design Change Submissions (LC/AC 22) and Decommissioning.
- Conducting Functional Safety Assessments and managing Regulatory Interface/ Generic Design Assessment (GDA).
- Understanding Availability, Reliability and Maintainability (ARM), and System Safety.
- Performing ALARP, Safety & Risk, Deterministic Safety, and Probabilistic Safety Assessments.
- Engaging with Nuclear Safety Legislation, Regulation, and Policy and carrying out Engineering Substantiation.
- Using HAZOP and other identification studies, HAZAN, Criticality, and Nuclear Fire assessments.
Job Requirements:
- SC Clearance
- Experience in one or more areas of safety case development, including Safety Case Production, Modification/ Design Change Submissions, and Decommissioning.
- Knowledge of Functional Safety Assessment, Regulatory Interface, Availability, Reliability and Maintainability (ARM), System Safety, and Safety & Risk Assessment.
- Understanding of Nuclear Safety Legislation, Regulation, and Policy, and the ability to perform Engineering Substantiation.
- Familiarity with HAZOP, HAZAN, Criticality, and Nuclear Fire assessments.
