Job description


Our client, a leading consultancy in the rail sector, is currently seeking a Chartered Engineer (Buildings) to join their team in London. This is a contract role focused on buildings and structures within rail projects, set for an initial duration of 12 months. The role offers a hybrid working model and requires an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing expert engineering input and consultancy for buildings and structures within rail projects at Old Oak Common
  • Utilising software such as Bentley and Aecomsim to design and analyse building structures
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project requirements are met efficiently and effectively
  • Overseeing construction processes to ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations
  • Preparing and presenting technical reports, drawings, and specifications
  • Conducting site inspections and assessments to evaluate project progress and quality of work
  • Managing project timelines and ensuring milestones are achieved on schedule
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in building engineering techniques

Job Requirements:

  • Chartered status as a Senior Engineer with significant experience in building and structural engineering
  • Strong proficiency in using software such as Bentley and Aecomsim
  • Expertise in building design and analysis within the rail sector
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly
  • High level of attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid model with some on-site presence at Old Oak Common
