Job description
Our client, a prominent player in the technology sector, is looking for a Senior Tech Field Engineer for a contract position to be based in Reading, UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides the full range of Field Engineering support for an assigned base of large and complex clients.
- Takes complete ownership of onsite service activity.
- Performs advanced-level maintenance on all products, including low-complexity installation activities.
- Provides technical feedback on equipment, systems, and processes to improve overall service delivery.
- Uses advanced tools and technical knowledge to resolve client problems and conduct scheduled installs.
- Identifies and resolves systemic issues within the team.
- Proactively supports the needs of other team members, providing technical assistance and expertise.
- Contributes to improved client services metrics reporting and documentation.
- Monitors technical and process issues, proactively informing the manager and/or team on offering improvement recommendations.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in supporting technical field operations and customer service.
- Strong technical skills in DSS, Windows, IMAC, PC, Hardware, and Software.
- Strong understanding of onsite service support and maintenance.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with technical colleagues.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Key Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- May require technical certification or Associate Degree.
- Experience in the relevant area of responsibility, generally between 3 - 5 years.
This role involves travel, and travel expenses, including mileage or train tickets, will be reimbursed. Travel time will be included in your timesheet and paid in addition to your standard working hours.
The successful candidate will provide contingency cover for planned and unplanned absences and activities, including holidays, sick leave, and client project work. This role involves installing, repairing, and providing technical maintenance for product and component hardware and software at customer premises, ensuring systems operate as designed and are maintained or upgraded as required.
