Job description


Our client, a leading marine engineering consultancy, is currently seeking a Senior Engineer - Mechanical to join their team. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative marine projects and contribute to the company's success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for engineering design calculations for specific projects
  • Ensuring compliance with classification society and/or national authority standards as stipulated in project specifications
  • Managing the quality of project work, ensuring adequate detail and thorough checking prior to release
  • Liaising with customers, representatives, subcontractors, suppliers, classification societies, and national authorities to ensure relevant information is available and queries are resolved promptly
  • Managing workload across multiple projects, prioritising tasks and proposing solutions for conflicting time requirements in coordination with the Discipline Lead
  • Reviewing project work to identify potential areas of technical risk and discussing these with the Technical Project Manager

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in the marine industry
  • Self-motivation and strong time planning and management skills to meet targets and deadlines
  • Proven ability to process technical problems and seek out the correct technical solutions using sound engineering judgement
  • Ability to produce clear and well-presented drawings, plans, and technical reports
  • Commercial awareness, ensuring works are carried out to the appropriate standard, measured against contracted deliverables and tracked against the agreed budget
  • Experience in Mechanical Engineering and design
  • Proficiency in design software and relevant mechanical engineering tools
