Job Title: Quantity Surveyor - Heavy Civils
Location: Sites between York and Carlisle
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 + Vehicle, Fuel Card & Staying Away Allowance
Contract Type: Permanent
Sector: Civil Engineering & Infrastructure

About the Role:

A reputable Tier 2 contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in heavy civils projects to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of major infrastructure and construction projects across multiple sites. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious QS looking to progress quickly within a dynamic and expanding business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage commercial, contractual, and financial aspects of heavy civil engineering projects.
• Administer NEC3/NEC4 contracts, ensuring compliance and effective risk management.
• Oversee cost control, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to drive project success.
• Provide accurate financial reporting and forecasting to senior management.
• Conduct site visits across multiple locations between York and Carlisle, ensuring smooth project delivery.
• Assist in procurement and supply chain management.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and quality standards.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the heavy civils or infrastructure sector.
• Strong understanding of NEC3/NEC4 contract management.
• Ability to work across multiple project sites, with a full UK driving license.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
