Introduction
One of our top clients, a leading power utilities and energy company is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Edinburgh.
In this role, you'll oversee cost management and contracts, ensuring smooth project delivery from start to finish. This role suits a seasoned professional with strong leadership skills and experience handling complex projects. You'll play a key role in maximizing profitability while maintaining quality and client satisfaction.
What will I be doing? In this role, you'll:
- Own the budgeting process-create accurate estimates and keep costs under control.
- Stay on top of project costs, spotting savings and managing any variances.
- Lead procurement and contract negotiations, handling variations, claims, and disputes.
- Make sure contracts tick all the legal, regulatory, and client requirement boxes.
- Spot potential risks early, put mitigation plans in place, and guide teams to stay ahead.
What do I need to succeed? In this role, you'll have a:
- Hands-on experience with DNO, Power, or Renewable Energy projects.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven track record in managing complex construction projects.
- Strong NEC contract experience.
- Deep understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and cost management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
