Job description

Our client is looking for a Highways Maintenance Engineer to lead their highway maintenance projects. This is an exciting contract opportunity to work on crucial footway and carriageway schemes within the London Borough.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing maintenance operations for highway infrastructure, including footways and carriageways
• Planning and managing maintenance schedules and activities
• Ensuring all projects meet regulatory and safety standards
• Co-ordinating with internal teams and external contractors to ensure project efficiency
• Conducting site inspections and assessments
• Preparing detailed reports and documentation for maintenance activities
• Providing technical guidance and support to the maintenance team
• Liaising with stakeholders and addressing their concerns and requirements

Job Requirements:

• Experience in highway maintenance and management
• Strong knowledge of footway and carriageway maintenance practices
• Ability to plan and execute maintenance schedules effectively
• Proven track record in managing maintenance projects within a regulatory framework
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience
