Job description
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Director/Associate Director Town Planner to join their vibrant teams in Manchester, Leeds, and Sheffield. This permanent role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of a well-established town planning team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grow an existing team of Town Planners
- Deliver high-quality Town Planning services directly to clients
- Manage commercial aspects of commissions and/or projects, including governance, fee management activities, and internal job costings and resource requirements
- Lead multidisciplinary bid submissions for major infrastructure and development projects
- Play a key role in generating repeat business and identifying new business and market opportunities in the North
- Manage client relationships and service delivery in conjunction with colleagues
- Set the pace and monitor all work executed to ensure accuracy, professionalism, and quality service delivery to clients
- Collaborate with the national Planning team and other teams across the UK to provide services and develop new work
- Manage colleagues in the North, including performance and development oversight
Job Requirements:
- Extensive experience in Town Planning
- Proven ability to lead, grow and develop a team of planners
- Significant experience in managing commercial aspects of projects and commissions
- Expertise in delivering high-quality planning services to clients
- Strong track record in generating new business opportunities
- Excellent client relationship management and service delivery skills
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong leadership and organisational abilities
