Job description

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Director/Associate Director Town Planner to join their vibrant teams in Manchester, Leeds, and Sheffield. This permanent role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of a well-established town planning team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grow an existing team of Town Planners
  • Deliver high-quality Town Planning services directly to clients
  • Manage commercial aspects of commissions and/or projects, including governance, fee management activities, and internal job costings and resource requirements
  • Lead multidisciplinary bid submissions for major infrastructure and development projects
  • Play a key role in generating repeat business and identifying new business and market opportunities in the North
  • Manage client relationships and service delivery in conjunction with colleagues
  • Set the pace and monitor all work executed to ensure accuracy, professionalism, and quality service delivery to clients
  • Collaborate with the national Planning team and other teams across the UK to provide services and develop new work
  • Manage colleagues in the North, including performance and development oversight

Job Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in Town Planning
  • Proven ability to lead, grow and develop a team of planners
  • Significant experience in managing commercial aspects of projects and commissions
  • Expertise in delivering high-quality planning services to clients
  • Strong track record in generating new business opportunities
  • Excellent client relationship management and service delivery skills
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong leadership and organisational abilities
