Job description

Our client, a dynamic consultancy in the building services sector, is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Nottingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to advance their career and play a key role in delivering exciting projects while working in a hybrid capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading and managing electrical design projects across a variety of sectors including residential, education, justice, and laboratory.
• Collaborating with other disciplines, particularly mechanical engineering, to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Preparing and managing fee proposals, and representing the company in client meetings.
• Coordinating with the wider team, managing workload, and ensuring deadlines are met efficiently.
• Providing leadership within the team, especially for less experienced engineers and graduates.
• Designing electrical services from Stage 2 to Stage 6, including detailed designs, specifications, and calculations.
• Engaging with clients, attending site visits, and providing technical advice as required.
• Working on a variety of projects, from small to medium-sized schemes to larger residential and commercial projects.

Job Requirements:

• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience in electrical design within the building services sector.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with strong communication skills.
• Experience using design software such as REVIT (familiarity with MagiCAD is a plus).
• Understanding of project management, including coordinating with internal teams and clients.
• Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers and provide leadership in project delivery.
• Interest in achieving Chartered Engineer status.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
