Job summary
Our client, a leading organisation in the Public Sector, is currently seeking a Principal Engineer (Streetspace) to join their team on a 3 Year Fixed-Term basis in a vibrant North London Borough.

Job description
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, review, design, consultation, and delivery of schemes to promote walking, cycling, and bus priority
- Implementations to reduce congestion and enhance road safety, including School Streets, strategic cycle routes, and traffic signal works
- Oversee bus lanes and various measures targeting congestion reduction
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful and timely project delivery
- Provide expertise and guidance to team members within the Streetspace team
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports and recommendations
- Maintain robust client and community relationships through effective communication and customer service
Job Requirements:
- Extensive experience as a Principal Engineer in the traffic and transportation sector
- Working knowledge of highways, traffic, and transport legislation and practices
- Understanding of current planning, sustainability, and economic agendas influencing transport policy
- Proven track record in the successful delivery of traffic and parking schemes
- Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience in the field
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
