Job description

Our client, a prominent organisation, is currently seeking a Principal Geotechnical/Tunnel Engineer to join their team in Barcelona. This is a permanent opportunity to contribute to major rail and tunnel engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading geotechnical and tunnel design projects from inception to completion
• Conducting detailed site investigations and data analysis
• Developing geotechnical solutions and design specifications
• Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project delivery
• Preparing comprehensive technical reports and documentation
• Providing expertise in risk assessments and mitigation strategies
• Supervising on-site construction activities related to geotechnical and tunnel works
• Maintaining strong client relationships through effective communication

Job Requirements:

• Experience in civil engineering, specifically within the rail and tunnel sectors
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical principles and tunnel design
• Proficiency in relevant design and analysis software
• Excellent technical report writing and presentation skills
• Ability to conduct thorough site investigations and data interpretation
• A strong understanding of risk assessment and mitigation approaches
• Effective team leadership and collaboration skills
• Relevant degree in civil engineering or equivalent qualification
