Job description
Our client is currently seeking a Senior Planning Consultant to join their team based in Cheshire. This is a permanent position and presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to further their career in development management and town planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and delivering a wide range of planning projects simultaneously
- Providing expert advice on development management and town planning matters
- Preparing and submitting successful planning applications and appeals
- Representing clients at public inquiries and hearings
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
- Ensuring projects are completed within budget and on time
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant planning policies and regulations
Job Requirements:
- Town Planning degree
- MRTPI qualification
- Experience in the private and/or public sector
- Proven track record of managing a large and diverse range of planning projects
- Significant experience in handling successful applications and appeals
- Experience with public inquiries
- Excellent understanding of planning history and policy
- Advanced skills in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Personal Attributes:
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High level of self-motivation, especially when faced with challenges
- Commercial awareness, including managing client expectations and ensuring timely invoicing
- Capability to build and develop team members
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to work in the Cheshire office at least 3 days each week
- Clean full driving licence
