Job description


Our client is currently seeking a Senior Planning Consultant to join their team based in Cheshire. This is a permanent position and presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to further their career in development management and town planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and delivering a wide range of planning projects simultaneously
  • Providing expert advice on development management and town planning matters
  • Preparing and submitting successful planning applications and appeals
  • Representing clients at public inquiries and hearings
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Ensuring projects are completed within budget and on time
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant planning policies and regulations

Job Requirements:

  • Town Planning degree
  • MRTPI qualification
  • Experience in the private and/or public sector
  • Proven track record of managing a large and diverse range of planning projects
  • Significant experience in handling successful applications and appeals
  • Experience with public inquiries
  • Excellent understanding of planning history and policy
  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of self-motivation, especially when faced with challenges
  • Commercial awareness, including managing client expectations and ensuring timely invoicing
  • Capability to build and develop team members

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to work in the Cheshire office at least 3 days each week
  • Clean full driving licence
