Job description

Our client, a leading consultancy in the rail sector, is currently seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join their team in York on a permanent basis. The role involves working on various rail infrastructure projects, with a primary focus on bridge engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading design and assessment projects for rail bridges and related structures
• Conducting site visits and inspections to assess structural integrity
• Preparing detailed engineering reports and specifications
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
• Coordinating with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure project delivery within scope and timelines
• Reviewing and approving design calculations and drawings
• Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
• Managing client relationships and providing high-quality customer service

Job Requirements:

• Significant experience in civil engineering with a focus on bridge design and assessment
• Strong understanding of rail infrastructure projects and protocols
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Relevant degree in civil engineering or equivalent qualification
