Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Type: Permanent

Introduction:
Matchtech is proud to be partnering with a prestigious Formula 1 team, embarking on an exciting new era of innovation and competition. With a dedicated team of over 700 passionate individuals, they are determined to push the limits at the front of the grid. As part of their expansion, they are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer - Composite to join their team.
What will you be doing?
As a Design Engineer, you'll be a key and effective member of the design engineering team, responsible for the scheme, design, testing, and development stages of various mechanical and composite components, while also being accountable for creating, implementing, and successfully completing project concepts.
Design & Development:
- Provide design schemes from concept to completion for mechanical and composite components, including packaging and surfacing.
- Create detailed designs for jigs, fixtures, laminate booklets, tooling, and assembly drawings for manufacturing.
- Proactively develop, test, and improve design concepts, generating ideas to enhance products and productivity.
- Research new materials and processes to enhance designs and support patent applications where applicable
Collaboration & Issue Resolution:
- Work closely with structures to ensure product integrity, safety, compliance and efficiency.
- Manage issue resolution throughout projects, providing practical solutions for manufacturing, testing, and final use.
- Attend and participate in meetings as required.
Project Management & Reporting:
- Assist with project planning, tracking, and produce high-quality progress reports.
- Embrace and promote the use of relevant business systems.
What do you need to succeed?
You'll be self-motivated, calm under pressure, with strong decision-making, excellent communication, and a results-driven focus; adaptable team player with a strong commitment to Health & Safety.
To be successful, you'll need:
- A 2:1 or above Degree in Automotive, Mechanical, Motorsport Engineering, or similar.
- Experience in F1, top-level Motorsport, or a technology company.
- To be comfortable using the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Project, Excel, Word, and Power BI.
