Job description
Utilities Coordinator
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee utility detection and avoidance survey processes, maintaining accurate records and databases.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the project team, ensuring site safety and monitoring performance to optimize efficiency and project delivery.
- Coordinate with all stakeholders involved in utility detection and avoidance to ensure safe and high-quality project execution in line with industry standards.
- Manage the compilation, issuance, and closure of permits in both digital and paper formats, ensuring quality control and providing auditable evidence.
- Lead initiatives to increase awareness within the project team regarding utility avoidance processes, safe working practices, and industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain a competency matrix for team members regarding utilities and services avoidance training and requirements.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Utilities Coordinator in a site-based construction role on major projects, particularly in:
- Highways and railway infrastructure
- Utility diversions
- Bored concrete piling
- Reinforced concrete
- Qualifications or demonstrable equivalent in:
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act) - Supervisor
- LA, S1 Certificates (minimum)
- CAT4+ training, including data logging and signal generator familiarization
- This role requires a DBS check and security clearance in line with nuclear industry standards.
